Biography Eirik Lae Solberg

Eirik Lae Solberg (Conservative Party) assumed position as Governing Mayor of Oslo on 25 October 2023.

He has been a Member of the City Council since 2007 and has completed two terms as group leader of the Norwegian Conservative Party. He was Vice Mayor of Finance in Oslo from 2014 to 2015. He has been a Political Adviser and State Secretary in the Norwegian Ministry of Local Government and Modernisation and State Secretary in the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries.

Lae Solberg has previously worked as Communications Director at Microsoft Norway, and from 2020–2022 as a Director at Deloitte Norway. He has a B.Sc. in Social Economics from the London School of Economics and an M. Phil. in European Studies from the University of Cambridge, with intermediary studies in history.

Eirik Lae Solberg was born in 1971 and grew up in Drammen. He currently lives at Bislett in Oslo.
